About Christi

A homegrown entrepreneur, Christi started her journey in downtown Clayton with her first shop in 2015. Prior to owning the shop, Christi started painting furniture in her home basement as a creative outlet. Her passion for furniture painting and home décor led her to looking at small spaces within Clayton to give her the outlet to sell goods to the community. A small dream of painting a few pieces a week quickly turned in multiple pieces, tons of custom orders and home interior and staging opportunities. After only two years in business downtown the business took a huge leap and grew over 10 times by moving into what is now The Market at Three Little Birds. Starting with 23 vendors, Three Little Birds now offers select goods from over 95 local artisans.

Christi’s passion for her small town gives her the opportunity to partner with local artisans allowing them to showcase their talents and give our customers a unique experience at The Market. “Our vendors are our family”. The vendors at The Market range from experienced professionals in their industries to stay at home moms with a passion for creating. “The vendors are selected based off talent, not experience”. The Market at Three Little Birds carefully selects every vendor to join the “family” by using a local community panel to make sure that our customer’s experience is the main focus.

Raised in North Carolina, Christi continues the traditions raising her amazing children, Ethan 11 and Emma 20 in Clayton, NC. Christi’s children are the passion behind the career. “Working hard, creating something beautiful by following your dreams and serving your community, what better things could I instill in my children”. Christi hopes that Three Little Birds will continue to stay in the family as her daughter currently attends Appalachian State and son learns how to paint through weekly “behind the curtain” painting sessions with the crew.

Why Three Little Birds? The name of the store is the foundation of Christi’s vision. The song Three Little Birds by Bob Marley was one that was sung quite often in Christi’s family home in Youngsville, NC. Growing up in a super small community, your friends you’re your family, and your family was your friends. After losing her older brother to a stroke at the age of 28, the song went from a background noise to the family’s mantra. Every Little Thing is gonna be alright shows us that there is hope in all situations.
